Narrabri West
Pre School was established in 1977 and is one of only 3
Department of Education & Training Pre Schools in Northern
NSW. We operate on a
full day session basis. Children may attend Monday and
Tuesday or Thursday and Friday, with each group
attending on alternate Wednesdays, creating a five day
fortnight pattern. The children attend for the full year prior to
Kindergarten enrolment. In 2008 our
brand new Pre School facility opened with a completely
refurbished and state of the art interior. Coupled with
the change to full day sessions, this heralds an
exciting era in Pre School education for our students. |

|
|
We have an
early childhood trained teacher, a teacher's aide and at
least one parent is rostered on to help in each
session. The Pre School is supervised by the Principal and Assistant Principal Infants and is governed by
the policies and procedures of the N.S.W Department of
Education & Training. |

Information For
Parents:
At this Pre School, we aim to provide a program
which enables the individual child to develop
their natural curiosity to learn about themselves
and the world around them. To do this we employ
developmentally appropriate play experiences and
activities based on the children's interests and
abilities at the time. We take into account the
child's previous experiences and their individual
needs and differences, and from this, an
appropriate program is devised. It will include
activities such as painting, drawing, pasting,
collage, block building, puzzles, group games,
music, movement, stories, role playing, sand and
water play and other outdoor activities. We
believe that at this age children learn
self-discipline and independence by being able to
choose their own play activities and time for
individual and group participation is provided.
